Web analytics with Umami
We use the open-source software Umami to analyse website usage. We host Umami ourselves on our own server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. There is no transfer to third parties and no data processing outside the European Union.
What Umami does not do: Umami does not set cookies and does not store or read any information on your device. No access within the meaning of Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) takes place, so consent is not required. No cross-device profiles are created, no tracking across other websites takes place and no data is used for advertising purposes.
What is collected: The page visited, referral source (referrer), browser type, operating system, screen size, device type and country of origin determined from the IP address. Your IP address is not stored. It is used only to generate an irreversible hash together with a random value that changes daily. This serves solely to count repeat page views within one day as a single visit. After the day ends, it is no longer technically possible to associate these visits. URL query parameters are removed before storage.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to design our website around its users' needs and to analyse its usage statistically. The collected data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
